This course takes both a technical and conceptual introduction to sculpture, with a focus on coil building techniques to construct unique forms. Connecting ceramic history and mythology to personal storytelling and aesthetic, students will navigate how to convey narrative and character in their pieces. With a sculptural lens, this course will consider ceramics as a medium throughout history, and the significance of it in our work.
This class is great for beginner hand builders looking to explore more sculptural forms!
Your class registration includes up to 10 pounds of clay fired, all supplies/glazes/firings, and open studio hours to work outside of class time. All you need to do is show up ready to learn!
