Open Position: Part-time Ceramics Instructor
A Penguin Foot Instructor plays a big role at the studio, setting the tone and attitude of the space for students and members. Instructors have many responsibilities both in class and outside of class hours. We rely heavily on the expertise and creativity of our instructors to keep students engaged and moving work through the space!
As an instructor, you are expected to:
Help to maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all students, staff, and customers.
Teach assigned classes and maintain all designated teacher duties, including communication with students.
Assist in opening and closing tasks, as well as studio tech operations, such as clay reclaim, kiln loading/unloading, cleaning & mopping.
Create new and engaging curriculum.
Be creating your own work!
The ideal candidate:
Can proficiently teach hand building and wheel throwing classes at all levels
Has at least 1 to 2 years of ceramics teaching experience
Has some experience with glaze mixing, kiln loading, and basic studio operations
Be able to lift 50lbs
Is available Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday
